Jean Leloup
Jean Leloup, aka John The Wolf, Jean DeadWolf Leclerc or Jean Leclerc.
Jean is probably one of the best Québec artists. It’s very hard to define clearly what his genre is. I find that each of his albums has its own sound, its own style. When he started his career, people were bashing him on TV, saying he was a stinking junkie and blablabla… I got so mad when I heard that! Ok, yeah, he was wasted pretty much all the time, but who cares. His venue on the Québec music scene was seriously needed. We were brainwashed by Céline Dion and her clones on the radio. That’s what I like so much about Jean, he isn’t anyone’s clone. He’s just Jean, a talented songwriter and an impressive performer. His concerts are just purely amazing and mind-blowing! You never know what to expect when you go to his concerts. Each of them is truly unique, just like Jean.
Jean Leloup – Laura https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BXnC5516mE
“Laura, Laura, Laura. Dis-le-moi, où tu l'as trouvée ta mini-jupe, Laura, Laura, dis-le-moi...”
I don’t know if you’ll like this video, but… it has some historical significance! It was probably his first appearance on TV. The Adisq is a music award thing in Québec. He got popular the following year, mostly cause of the song “1990”, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAappAsGBO0
It’s hard to say what his best songs are… I’d say I particularly like the song “Je joue de la guitare”. But I also like Alger, Barcelone, Cookie, Edgar, I lost my baby, Isabelle, Je suis parti, Johnny go, La Chambre, Let me go, L’innocence de l’âme, Nathalie, Tangerine 444, Think about you,… Ok, I’ll stop before I list all his fucking songs!
Oh btw, MP and I are now famous TV stars cause of the song L’innocence de l’âme! No kidding

Other Québec artists...
Les Colocs: http://www.myspace.com/lescolocss
Les Cowboys Frigants: http://www.myspace.com/lescowboysfringantsqubecois
Mes Aïeux: http://www.myspace.com/mesaieux
I know i talked about Loco Locass before, but they made that new song for a movie about suicide... The lyrics are quite in-your-face and blunt, but poetic and moving. I dont get why, but they got a lot of criticism for the lyrics... Since when is it bad to openly talk about something as important as suicide?! Acting like an ostrich wont solve anything!
Anyway, here's the song and the lyrics (read the version written by Kuja777, it's more accurate than the one on top!)...
